Bruce Douglas Stewart

August 27, 1949 – July 26, 2012

On Thursday, July 26, 2012, Bruce passed away suddenly, at home with his son Ryan by his side.

He will be lovingly missed by his longtime friend, wife Bev. and his best buddy’s sons Ryan and Kevin. His sisters, Barbara (Wilf) Clarke and Linda Robinson. Brother-in-law Bill Lawrynuik and sister-in-law Linda Stewart. His special nieces and nephews - Sharon, Lori and Alan Lawrynuik, Val and Brad Neirinick, Cheryl Stewart, Lance and Lisa Ludwig, Dean Robinson, Lanette and Stino Siragusa, Kim and Brent Chaisson and Kenny Clarke . Along with his child hood and lifelong friend Ervin (Cheryl) Kaziw and his many, many friends. He will be missed greatly.

Special thanks to close cousin, Aubrey Hemminger for all his spiritual help.

Bruce was pre-deceased by his Mom and Dad, Mildred and Douglas Stewart, his brother Gordon Stewart, his sister Joan Lawrynuik, his brother-in-law Craig Robinson and Mother-in-law Florence Schmidt.

Bruce worked as a truck driver at the Canadian Pacific Railway for over 30 years. He sure could entertain with his trucking stories - they sure put a smile on everyone’s face.

Bruce just loved his dogs and referred to them as his grandkids - special buddy, Chase, his little girl, Twister, Kody who just received his Canadian Champion and was so looking forward to all the upcoming shows, along with Rosco, Bailey, and Rieley ATB. He worked nights and would always say he would ask Chase, Twister and Kody to say a prayer to help him get a tight fitting trailer in and it always worked. Bruce would always say God sure looked after me last night at work.

The last couple of weeks Bruce seemed so happy and content. Bruce and Bev just celebrated 38 years together. We went out to the Forks that night and he kept telling us that was the best anniversary he had.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2528 King Edward Street. Flowers can be sent to the church on Thursday morning before noon.
