Chris Trylinski was born in Cooks Creek, Manitoba, June 15, 1919 and peacefully passed away September 14th, 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Chris voluntarily enlisted in the Air Force and was in the 1082 regiment as a Leading Aircraftman during World War II. While in Germany, Chris met a special lady Herta whom he kept in contact with years later and cherished their time together. After the war, Chris obtained his electrical certificate and also worked for the Canadian National Railway. He established his own business, Transcona Electric. Later on he took teaching courses and became an instructor at Red River Community College in the electrical program where many electrical students benefited from his dedication to education. Chris had two of his homes built for him in Transcona, which he wired himself. He spent the last 51 years in his current home enjoying some woodworking and taking care of his yard. Chris enjoyed going to the Legion to dance and meet up with his friends.
Chris was predeceased by his parents Michael and Anastasia Trylinski and siblings William Trylinski, Zygmunt Trylinski, and Verna Romanow. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his two children, Darlene (Darryl) and Gerald (Cheryl), grandchildren Rory (Caroline), Lara (Sean), Alexa (Ethan) and Kale, and great grandchildren Sebastian, Nicholas and Annastasia. He is also survived by his sisters Kay Zukowsky and Louise Malegus and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends were fortunate to celebrate Chris’s 100th birthday this past June. Chris will be fondly remembered by his long time neighbors and friends at the Salisbury House restaurant in Transcona where he had coffee almost every morning. The service for Chris will be Monday, September 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
