Clive will be sadly missed by his son, Matthew and Matthew’s mother, Joelle; his father, Colin; his sister, Claire, her husband Julian; his nephew, Ieuan; his partner, Annette, his beloved pet, KitKat and many coworkers and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Glenys.
Clive was born in Newport Wales and spent his childhood in New Inn in Pontypool. He attended Green Lawn Junior School furthering his education at West Monmouth Grammar School. He was always ambitious and when asked what he wanted to do in life at a young age his response was “get my O-levels, A-levels and then a degree”. Clive achieved this ambition graduating from Aberystwyth University in Wales with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and microelectronics.
As well as his academic achievements during his time in school Clive also excelled in sports and music. He taught himself to play guitar and won a gold medal for skiing at the Welsh schools skiing championships.
It is during his time in Aberystwyth University that Clive developed the interest in photography that would become his lifelong hobby, turning this into a business following his graduation and before his move to Canada.
Clive took the leap and moved to Winnipeg in December, 1997. He started working in the IT industry for Online Business Systems in 1998, enjoying a long and varied career as an Onliner. His work with Online took him too many places across Canada and the US where he had the chance to explore interesting places and meet new coworkers and friends. In September, 2014 he became a Canadian citizen.
One of his happiest moments was the birth of his son, Matthew in December 2001. They spent lots of time together watching car shows on television, playing video games or tracking down some new interesting tech toy. When Matthew got older, they spent many weekends on another of Clive’s favourite hobbies – photography. Clive had the ability to find the perfect shot, a talent he has passed on to his son.
The other interest he passed on to Matthew was his love for the game of pool. He spent lots of time with Matthew, showing him different shots and the right spot to hit the cue ball to make that impossible shot.
If there was a piece of cool technology, there is a good chance that Clive had it. He loved all things technology.
