David Digby Ferries

On November 5, 2019, Digby Ferries died with family by his side.

He is survived by his daughter Carol Nikkel (Allan), son Ross Ferries (Carmen) and 5 grandchildren, Steven, Matthew (Brittany), Rebecca (Kevin), Mia and Ema. He will be dearly missed by his sister June-Anne Ferries, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cath and George Marlin as well as a large circle of friends and family.

He was predeceased by his brother Barry, his parents and his wife, Rose Ferries (Vasey).

Digby was born and lived most of his life in Winnipeg. He was an educator and taught at many different schools. His passion was working with students with different learning challenges. He was instrumental in opening the Manitoba Learning Centre.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 2:30 pm at the United Church in Meadowood. A private family interment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, Ovarian Cancer Canada or a charity of your choice.

So sorry to read of Digby's passing. My condolences to you all.
Digby was a kind and patient man who exercised these qualities numerous times as he guided Children's Home/New Directions into the digital age.

I worked with Digby many years ago at MACLD on Preston Street.
I have very fond memories of our professional relationship. Digby did a great job of making the workplace enjoyable and really cared for all the children. Please accept my sincere condolences.
