It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of David Lovallo Sr. on October 16, 2014.
Dave is survived by the love of his life, Kay Lovallo his loving wife of almost seventy years. Cherishing his memory are his children, Michael (Patti), David Jr. (Susan), Linda (Chris), grandchildren Kevin (Robin), Lisa (John), Christine (Chris), Jennifer (Lonnie), Shawn, Katie (Ritchie), Cheryl (Steve) and Michelle (Steve), and great-grandchildren Jomar, Andrew, Nathan and James, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave is predeceased by his parents Salvatricia and Vincenzio Lovallo, son Joseph, brothers John, Sam, Dom, and Charlie and sisters Cleo, Virgie and Sara.
Dave was born in Sicily on March 22, 1922 and immigrated to Winnipeg as a child. He served in the armed forces during the Second World War. He took great pride in his job as a Carman at CPR's Weston Shops, retiring in 1982 after forty-two years of service.
Dave was devoted to his family and loved to entertain with magic tricks and jokes. He enjoyed fishing at Lockport and East Selkirk and checking out the latest cars. Dave always worked towards improving himself and providing a loving and happy home for his family. He loved to play with his precious dogs, first Scottie and then Sunshine, discretely spoiling them with treats when he thought no one would see. We will miss you and always cherish your love and memory.
A celebration of Dave's life will take place on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:00 am at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
Special thanks to the staff of the Victoria General Hospital, fourth floor south. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
