David K. Stevenson

He was 84 years young.

David will be lovingly remembered by his family daughters Margo, Sydney (Shawn) and Lindsay (Greg), and grandchildren, Kaitlin and Brennan O'Toole, Jack, Erik and Brynn Psooy, sisters Betty Geraghty, Pat Burrows, Sally (Paul) Corby, Cathy (Michael) Sweeney and sister in-law Maria Stevenson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dave was predeceased by his loving wife Jean of 42 years, his parents Cecily and Jack, brother Richard and brothers-in-law Peter Burrows and Hal Geraghty.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, he led an extremely active life centered around his family, cottage and the family business. David's tenure with Stevenson & Company began in 1954. From 1972 through to 1987, he took over leadership of the firm. During those years, he was involved with the Winnipeg Real Estate Board, becoming its President in 1969, as well as being Past President of the Manitoba Real Estate Association and a charter member of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (Manitoba Division). Dave's personal passions were golf at St. Charles Country Club, skiing at McCreary, and cottage life at Victoria Beach especially taking part in the social life these activities offered. Without question, together, Dave and Jean loved hosting and being hosted by "their gang" throughout the summer and winter months. We can't say enough to all their close friends who have supported Dave during his struggle over the last four years.

Dave's funeral service was held on Thursday, January 29, at 2:00 p.m. at St. George's Crescentwood Anglican Church, located at Wilton and Grosvenor. Special thanks to the Misericordia Interim Health Care (Cornish 2 Team) for the loving care and tremendous support they offered to Dave and the family during his stay there.
