Davida Sonya Barton

Mom left us to go to her eternal home in Heaven. She was a loving, caring, and generous mother of three and grandmother of two. She had been ill with cancer and spent her final days at Misericordia Hospital.

Davida, 64, was born October 15, 1960 and was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by; her mother Helena, father David, and brother Robert. She will be remembered with great love and affection by her children Denai, Samantha, and Vincent, grandchildren Isaiah and Elias; sisters Alice and Brenda; her Aunt Ina, niece Treena, nephews Jansen and Stacey. She will also be missed by great-nieces and great-nephew, cousins and dear friends. Mom was a warm and kind mother and grandmother with a big heart.

Davida enjoyed the city she was from and lived here her entire life. She attended Sisler High School and was a passionate writer and author. Mom enjoyed spending quality time with her family in the comfort of her home. She will be remembered affectionately for her smile that would light up a room. Her hugs would warm your heart. She had sweet personality, a heart full of laughter and joy, and a great sense of humor. She always showed her love through her cooking and gifts. She filled the hearts of the ones closest to her with warmth and comfort. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved the bright lights on the Christmas tree, the decorations and brightly wrapped presents and turkey dinner with all the fixings. Her mom’s recipe for Sweet Potatoes were her favorite. Most importantly, she was delighted to spend time with her family and two grandchildren. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

We will be having a private Celebration of Life memorial service at a later date. Davida will be cremated and remain with her children as she wished.
