Dicky Ying Nang Chan

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Dicky Ying Nang Chan, on the early evening of Monday, January 20th, 2025 at the age of 89.

Dicky was born in Guangdong, China. He moved to Hong Kong in his early years and met his wife, Lawrie. Together they immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba where they started a family. Dicky had a passion for food and cooking and was a chef for many years. He was an attentive viewer of Wheel of Fortune for many years, although his English was limited. His punctuality and prudence is a testament of his personality. Always ready.

Dicky is survived by his wife, Lawrie, his daughter, Amy (Howie) and son, Peter; his grandchildren, Kaylee, Anthony and Evan as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Extendicare Vista Park Lodge for their compassion in caring for Dicky during his stay there. As well as the dialysis unit staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital and peritoneal dialysis home care for the many years of continued care and attention.

A private family funeral will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home and Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.

我們懷著悲痛的心情宣布我們的父親陳英能於 2025 年 1 月 20 日星期一傍晚安詳逝世，享年 89 歲。

Dicky 出生於中國廣東。他早年移居香港並結識了他的妻子Lawrie。他們一起移民到緬尼托巴省溫尼伯市，並在那裡建立了一個家庭。家父(Dicky) 對食物和烹飪充滿熱情，並擔任廚師多年。儘管他的英語能力有限，但他多年來一直是《Wheel of Fortune》的忠實觀眾。他的守時和謹慎充分體現了他的性格。時刻準備著。

家父的遺屬包括他的妻子Lawrie、女兒Amy (Howie) 和兒子Peter；他的孫子孫女（Kaylee）、（Anthony),（Evan）以及許多侄女、侄子和表親。
