It is with profound sadness and deep admiration for her strength that we announce the passing of Dora Castelli on June 5, 2025, at the age of 80. Dora departed peacefully after a courageous 5½-year battle with cancer, facing her illness with unwavering grace and resilience that inspired all who knew her.
Dora will be lovingly remembered by her devoted children, Grazia Giglione and Liberato Campanaro; her brother, Mario; her sisters, Brigida, Antonietta, and Maria Pina; her cherished grandchildren; and many adoring nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Antonio Campanaro, and her parents, Antonio Castelli and Emilia Buttino.
Born and raised in Campochiaro, Italy, Dora embarked on a bold journey to Canada in 1964. She embraced her new life, learning English and building a career with determination. Her artistic talents shone brightly during her years as a cake decorator at Dominion – a role that became a true passion. Later, she brought warmth and creativity to Piazza DiNardi as the coffee bar manager, crafting beautiful gift baskets and greeting everyone with her genuine, welcoming smile. Her kindness turned countless customers into lifelong friends.
Beyond her hard work, Dora dedicated herself wholeheartedly to raising her three children. She took immense pride in her home and garden, enjoyed exploring new places through travel, and treasured every moment spent with her family. Her greatest joy was simply being with her children – whether sharing laughter over a lovingly prepared Sunday meal or savoring an espresso together on her patio in quiet conversation.
Dora will forever be remembered for her remarkable inner strength, her generous and compassionate heart, and the radiant smile that lit up every room. Her courage throughout her illness was a testament to her character. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her soul find eternal rest in the loving arms of God. Rest in peace.
