He is survived by his daughter Kathy and grandsons Glen and Evan; as well as brothers Wally and Leroy.
Doug was active in many sports including; lacrosse, hockey and later years golf. He pursued a career in the printing trade which was followed by an opportunity to teach graphic arts in Windsor, Ontario.
In retirement, Doug returned to Manitoba to enjoy many summers at Gull Lake and a few winters in Florida.
A small family gathering for the burial will take place in Spring 2017.
