Elsie Hamilton

September 13, 1920August 10, 2019

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother on August 10, 2019 at the age of 98.

Mom's memory will be forever held within the hearts of those who loved and cherished her. She will be sadly missed by her son Bill (Mary); daughter Teena; her eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and son-in-law Peter. Mom was predeceased by her husband Bill, two daughters, Gloria and Pat, and son-in-law Ron.

Mom's early years were spent in the North End of Winnipeg with her four sisters and one brother. At the age of 20, Mom met Dad at a dance hall and soon after married in 1941. They were married for 68 years. Mom and Dad raised their family in Brooklands and enjoyed many gatherings in their home with family and friends. They also loved spending time at their cabin at Winnipeg Beach where they shared a lifetime of memories with their family.

Mom's final years were spent at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg with Dad by her side for four years. We would like to extend our appreciation to those who went above and beyond in caring for her. We would also like to thank Donna and Irene for their compassion and loving kindness towards our Mom during her time spent at the care home.

A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

Elsie Hamilton

have a memory or condolence to add?

August 13, 2019

My condolences on your loss. I will always remember Mrs. Hamilton with fondness and as a force to be reckoned with, in all the good ways! I'll also remember her and Mr. Hamilton's hospitality on many a visit with Teena, including dinners and sleepovers both in Brooklands and at the Beach. May your memories lift you up. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
