On Saturday, October 31st, 2020, Harriet Ballantyne, grandmother, mother, aunty, sister, daughter, cousin, friend and relative, made her journey to the spirit world peacefully in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 74 years. Harriet was born in Pukatawagan, Manitoba to parents Marie Ballantyne and Cornelius Ballantyne on December 11th, 1945.
Harriet will be greatly missed by her son Gerald Ballanytne and family, along with her siblings Adrienne Ballantyne and family, Mary Ballantyne and family, John-Louis Ballantyne and family, Ivan Ballantyne and family, and her grandchildren Cordella Ballantyne, Drayden Ballantyne and Maressa Ballantyne, along with countless of friends, cousins, nieces and nephews, far too many to name.
In the years before her illness, Harriet loved to go for walks in downtown Winnipeg, have tea and visit with relatives, play bingo, go to the casino, share stories with younger relatives, berry pick and make homemade jam, listen to music, camp in the forest, eat traditional foods, make bannock, travel, and more. Harriet lived a vibrant life in her days.
Harriet was pre-deceased by parents Marie and Cornelius, daughter Vanessa, siblings Jane, Alice, Emily, Ettienne, and Floyd. May the Creator embrace you on your journey home. Sakihakan. Hai Hai.
