OBITUARY

Helene Dobel

Passed away on October 23, 2019

Helene Dobel (Leni) November 12th 1924 to October 23rd 2019 Neuendorf UKR

Helene passed away peacefully on October 23rd 2019 at Vista Park Lodge. She is survived by her son Richard, his wife Lorrie, four grandchildren; Sabrina, Ryan (Meghan), Bryce, Brett, great granddaughter Ayla – her daughter Angie Lohr and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Richard, her brother Peter and sister Katie.

Helene was born in Neuendorf UKR, November 12th 1924. Her family fled to Germany where she met and married her husband Richard in Roslau. After the war they immigrated to Canada where they enjoyed life with family and friends – day trips to Grand Beach and later a cottage at Brereton Lake where many great memories were made. Leni was a large part of German Society and spent endless hours volunteering and helped where she could. She adopted many daughters and sons. She worked very hard her entire life, making sure everyone was looked after. There was always plenty of food for everyone.

Thanks to the great staff at Vista Park Lodge and those that visited and made her last days enjoyable.

We will all dearly miss her and her love for us.

Funeral to be held at St. James Lutheran Church – 871 Cavalier Drive, Tuesday October 29th at 10:00 a.m.
