It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Hermie Sylvia Sutherland (née McKenzie) on March 4, 2026 at the age of 87 years.
Hermie was born in 1938 to her mother Myra McKenzie in St. Vincent. She immigrated to Canada in the 1960’s and later retired from Motor Coach Industries after many years of service.
Hermie had an artistic soul and every holiday was brightened by her passion for floral arrangements and holiday decorations.
Her loving nature made her an unforgettable presence to the loved ones in her life.
Hermie was predeceased by her mother Myra McKenzie and she is survived by Julia Sutherland and her family, her cousin Roslyn and her lifelong friends, the St. Louis family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 10:00 am at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
The family is grateful to the recreation department at River Park Gardens for their care for Hermie.
She will be missed dearly.
