It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Herminia Yabut, who left us on October 16, 2024, at the age of 61 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was born on September 8, 1963, in the Philippines. She is survived by her loving husband, Teofilo Yabut, and her three devoted sons, Jaymel Russel, Jordan Chris, and John Angelo. She is also remembered by her siblings, her older brother Gerardo Manipol and her younger brothers Armand and Armel Manipol.
Herminia was diagnosed with colon cancer on July 27, 2024, and bravely battled the disease until her final moments. Despite the challenges, she remained strong, surrounded by the love of her family.
She graduated from the Unciano Paramedicine College of Dentistry, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1989. She worked as a dedicated dentist in Saudi Arabia for six years before marrying Teofilo in 1998 and moving to Canada in 2000 to build a new life with her family.
Known for her warmth and kindness, Herminia had a passion for baking, and her "custard cake," a Filipino upside-down cake, was loved by many. Her sweet treats brought joy to everyone around her and will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of tasting them.
Her family and friends will forever cherish her memory and the love she so generously gave. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of compassion, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
