Jaibir Kanhai

He was born October 6, 1936 in Pasea Village, Tunapuna, Trinidad. He was the son of the late Rudralal and Taitree Kanhai. He was the sixth of seven siblings.

Jaibir came to Canada in 1970 dreaming of a better life for his children. He spent the better of his years hunting, fishing, and working at CN. Apart from his love for God, he very much loved his family and friends.

He was predeceased by is late son, Naresh ( Dodee), his parents, and all siblings, including his youngest brother Ramdath who passed last year.

He is survived by his sons, Vishnu and Max, daughter, Roshne, and son and daughter-in-law, Roshan and Miranda. He has also left behind and will be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other varied family members.

The family would like to thank the doctors and the nurses who aided in his end of life care at Health Sciences Centre and the staff at the Kildonan Personal Care Home for their support and care during the last few years of his life.

A private service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 2:00pm at Thompson in the park.
