James was born September 5, 1986, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was a beautiful baby, and his zest for life was apparent from the day he arrived. We were so blessed to have him. His family will miss his incredibly generous, loving, and sensitive soul as well as his sense of humour and beautiful smile.
He was an amazing big brother to his sister, Jennica. Fond memories of watching them together performing magic shows and tobogganing or watching James teach her to tie her shoelaces, ride her bike, or play floor hockey are forever treasured. He was the always loving, patient big brother. Brody, his faithful dog, was often part of the shenanigans. James loved being with the people he cherished, and he had a way of making them feel special. He always saw the positive in situations and others. His thoughtfulness will be forever remembered.
James was blessed with extreme intelligence and creativity. He was an out of the box thinker, a true visionary. No problem was too big for him to solve. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed adventure. While growing up, his favourite pastimes were BMXing, dirt biking with his dad, junior rifle, snowboarding, skateboarding, and cars. He excelled at anything he was passionate about. He was a sports fan and loved watching football, basketball, and hockey. James was a loyal Winnipegger and knew all the special places in Winnipeg to see and the best places to eat. He had a soft spot for animals and loved his dog Brody and cat Uncle.
Our precious James leaves his memory to be cherished by his parents Kim and Robert (Diane); his beloved sister Jennica (Jack); his amazing grandma Jennie who held a very special place in his heart; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Chelsea was a very special part of his life, and the family wish to thank her for her thoughtfulness. He is predeceased by his grandparents David, Elaine, Donald, and Mahlon and his cousins Kirsten and Tyler.
A private viewing and prayers were held March 15, 2024, at Klassen Funeral Home in Winnipeg. Cremation has taken place. The family wish to thank Pastor Vince Anderson for his prayers and blessings for James as well as his steadfast support. The family also gratefully acknowledge Paige Glass, the funeral director at Klassen, for her extraordinary kindness and compassion she provided to the family.
In memory of James and his love for animals, donations may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society or any animal rescue.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he dies, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.” ~John 11:25~
The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. ~Deuteronomy 33:27~
Broken Chain
We little knew that morning that, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again.
-Ron Tranmer-
We love you, James. We will see you again.
