Jim Yu Yung

Peacefully on April 2, 2012, Jim Yung passed away at Victoria Hospital at the age of 99.

His memory will be forever cherished by his six beloved children, Ken (Anne), Karen, Humphrey (Diana), Leonard (Tina), Rebecca and Cynthia as well as numerous extended family.

He was predeceased by his wife Kam.

Jim was born and raised in China Canton Taishan. He worked in his family business as a tailor. In 1954, he moved to Hong Kong seeking a better life. He started a business with relatives as a tailor. In 1966, he immigrated to Winnipeg employed by Rice Sportswear. He retired at the age of 65. Jim was baptized with his wife Kam at the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church. He most enjoyed tending his garden in Winnipeg.

Viewing will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with time of sharing and refreshments to follow.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church, 261 Colony Street.
