Joan Georgina Harrison (nee Richardson)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joan on Feb 20, 2022; loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She will be lovingly missed by her children, David (Petra), Michael (Shannon), Chris (Cyndy) & Sandra (Randy), grandchildren, Justin (Lindsay), Destinee, Jessie, Kirsten, Shelby (Jesse), Savanna (Cody), Zander & Connor and great-grandchildren Griffin and Lowey. She was predeceased by her husband Donald, mother Ethel, father Clifford Hugh, sister Marjorie and brother Clifford Perry.

Joan was born and raised in Winnipeg where she met her husband Donald. They spent many years enjoying their love of camping with their children at Chesley’s & Selkirk Park. Joan was active in Scouting when her boys were young and was an Akela of First Transcona Cubs & Scouts. Joan and Don were members of the Transcona legion where they made many friends and enjoyed darts, bingo & line dancing.

I Miss You Mom

I thought of you with love today,

but that is nothing new.

I thought about you yesterday,

and days before that too.

I think of you in silence,

I often speak your name.

All I have are memories,

and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is my keepsake,

with which I’ll never part.

God has you in his keeping,

I have you in my heart.

Sadly, missed and never forgotten! You will remain in our hearts forever. Thank you for the memories.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
