(nee Quaye)
It is with great sadness her family announces the unexpected passing of Suzanne on Sunday, July 12, 2015 after putting up a courageous fight to defeat leukemia.
Suzie was born August, 14th, 1949 in Winnipeg.
Suzie was predeceased by her parents Grace and John Quaye, her brother Robert, as well as her in-laws, Norman and Ivy Burrows.
Suzie is survived by her husband and soul mate of 42 years, Alan, cherished son Chandler and the center of her universe, grandson Tyler as well as her brother-in-law John.
She also leaves to mourn the children who added love and enjoyment to our family including Michelle, Len, Jim, Josh.
Suzie spent her early childhood in West Kildonan before the family moved to Elmwood where she was known as “Suzie Q”.
While in high school she discovered her lifelong passion for the culinary arts, culminating in her teaching gourmet microwave cooking classes.
Suzie had many careers including stay at home mom, business owner, teacher, foster parent, human resource specialist, and child care worker. She enjoyed all of them (kept her from being bored).
The family moved to Oakbank in ’79 where she was an active member of the community. After retiring Al and Suzie enjoyed Palm Springs and Wasagaming.
Suzie was known for her unique sense of humor and her big heart. Suzie was a lifelong animal lover especially cats. She leaves to mourn her three cats, Mini, Percy and Lemon as well as Lotus the dog.
The family would like to thank Dr. Szwajcer and all the staff at clinic 4, Cancer Care as well as all the caring staff at GD6 and ICU, HSC.
