She leaves to mourn her husband Gord of 36 years and her beloved son Thomas. She also leaves to mourn her siblings David (Shelley), Ken (Phyl), and Jan (Guy); as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her sister Cindy and her parents Don and Donna Marie.
Lori was born May 24, 1958 in Winnipeg. She attended Riverview Elementary school and graduated from Churchill high school. From there, Lori followed her passion for travel and adventure by becoming a travel agent. Through that experience, she got to see much of the world, but she loved Hawaii the most and returned many times with her husband Gord. Lori loved going to her cabin at Black Sturgeon Lake with Gord and Thomas, and always invited many friends and family down to enjoy it with her.
Being around nature brought her much joy and she often returned to look at her photo collection, to remind her of that joy. When at home, Lori also loved baking and she never failed to miss the chance to bake for family events, year-round. She loved riding her bicycle and she became very adept at yoga and loved a good road trip to Gimli with ‘the girls’ for a shop and a fun lunch. She and Thomas loved spending time together and often made each other laugh. Lori would always say, “You got to laugh at life or life will laugh at you.” Lori had a generous heart and always gave that little extra, when help was needed. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held on March 7, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivary Boulevard.
The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their help in caring for Lori, with special thanks to the staff at CancerCare: Dr. Maksymiuk and Dr. Ahmed; and nurses, Maureen Donnelly, Makenzie Jansen and Tamara S.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
