Left to cherish his memory is his wife Alda of 58 years. His children, Tony (Deanna), Joe, Diane (Alan). His grandchildren, Kyle (Becky), Tyler (Tegan), Brittany (Kyle), Chelsea, Savannah and Sydney. His great grandchildren, Caymen, Madison, Audrey, Ava, Emmy, Levi, Madden and Bohdi. He was predeceased by his daughter Elizabeth in 1987.

He was born May 25, 1928 in Ponta Delgada in the Azores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 and married his wife Alda on Feb 1, 1959. He worked for CNR for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed watching hockey but his biggest passion was gardening, which he did right until the end of this season.

A celebration of dad’s life will be held at Holy Redeemer Parish, 264 Donwood Dr. Thursday, November 16 at 11:00am. Father Doss officiating. As per dad’s wishes, a private internment for immediate family to follow.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Selkirk Regional Health Centre ER Department during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society.
