We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Eleanor on June 5, 2015 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. William Higham, her parents the Rev. Dr. Percy Norman and Margaret Murray and her brother Hugh.
Eleanor is survived by her sisters, Mary McTavish of Lethbridge and Alison Rousset (Eugene) of Montreal, Quebec, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and granddaughter. Marilyn and Larry Allan of Lethbridge have been a special part of her life.
Eleanor was born in Glenboro, Manitoba, graduated from Brandon College, received teacher training at Winnipeg Normal School and later added her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Manitoba. She taught school in Winnipeg area for many years and also had two years in Metz, France teaching on a RCAF base. Eleanor enjoyed travelling and had many interesting trips abroad.
Music was an important part of Eleanor’s life; she was a church organist for a number of years and was involved in choirs as a director and accompanist.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00pm on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB.
