Marilyn was born and raised in Winnipeg, growing up in Riverview and later River Heights. She enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Ponemah. She attended Kelvin High and the University of Manitoba, graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) in 1970. Upon graduation she took a job in the U of M’s fledgling Computer Department as a computer analyst. She worked there until her retirement, 35 years later. She loved her profession and the people she worked with. She especially enjoyed being the office lunch hour games coordinator.
Marilyn was athletic and enjoyed many sports over the years including track, skiing, tennis, soccer, field hockey and especially ringette, which she played into her early 60’s. She loved the camaraderie of team sports and through them made lifelong friends.
Marilyn was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren. She was right there celebrating each of the various milestones they reached in their own life journeys. They are her legacies.
