

Marion Holland passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13th at Lion’s Manor, three days before her 100th birthday.
Marion was born on November 16, 1914 in Gladstone, Manitoba but spent her youth in Arden, Manitoba. She is survived by her son, Ken (Marilyn), three grandchildren, Ian (Serena), Andrew (Michelle), Colleen (Corey), and five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Payton, Simon, Mia and Lucie.
She was the daughter of Herb and Alice Smale and was predeceased by her sisters, Laura (Clem) Spackman, Esther (Art) Weber and brothers, Bill (Mary) Smale and Frank (Reta) Smale.
Upon retiring from the Provincial Department of Health, Mother became involved in volunteer work and pursuing her various hobbies. She was particularly accomplished when working with pastels. Marion was a longtime member of the YMCA-YWCA seniors gym and swim group. She was an avid reader, especially of geography and enjoyed many interesting trips to some places she read about. She was an outdoor enthusiast and enjoyed daily walks in all seasons and weather.

In accordance with Marion’s wishes, immediate cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
