Marjorie Geraldine Robson

Marjorie will be sadly missed by her daughters , Donna and Diane, her sons-in- law, Dan Ptolemy and Jeff Shypit, her grandchildren, Shaun (Andrea), Kelly, Linda and Lana, her great-grandson, Jaxen, her sister Dorie (Paul Dalton) nieces and nephews, Lance (Cheryl), Scott and Daintry Dalton, Jim Robson (Jean), Lynn Ingram, and many cousins in the Robson Family and Campbell Clan.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents, her sister Jean Thomson (Daun), her niece Linda and her loving husband, Dick.

Marjorie was born in Newdale, Manitoba, the youngest daughter of Fred and Elva Mein and together with her sisters, Jean and Dorie, she enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in this small town. When Marjorie moved into Winnipeg to attend Business College and begin her career, she shared a small apartment with several girlfriends. These were such fun and exciting times for her.

Marj met the love of her life, Richard, fondly known to all as Dick, at the Grand Beach Dance Hall and they were married in 1950. Soon after, Marj and Dick welcomed their two daughters Donna and Diane into their lives. Marj and Dick had a rich life together for 64 years until his passing in 2014. They enjoyed entertaining and so many wonderful times were shared in their home, especially Christmas celebrations. They loved to travel and especially enjoyed their winter holidays in Florida and Palm Springs.

Marjorie was a member of the West Winnipeg Rotary Anns, the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association, and Westworth United Church. She served on the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home and often worked alongside Dick at Robson Drugs, where they made many friends in the St. James community.

Marjorie was the best storyteller ever, she had an amazing memory and we never tired of hearing her cute and interesting tales of a life well-lived. She was an inspiration to all as she dealt with her health challenges with strength and dignity, never giving up and smiling ‘til the end. We lost an amazing lady and we will miss her beautiful spirit always.

Marjorie’s friends and family are invited to a celebration of life on Friday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.

The family would like to thank Marjorie’s volunteer drivers from Rupert’s Land Caregiver Services, Dr. Walters and the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.
