Ms. Nancy Lee Steinhagen Hillard

Sept 18, 1955 – Feb 21, 2011

Surrounded by her children, our mom peacefully passed away on February 21, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg.

She is survived by children and grandchildren, Cindy (Jen) and Cali; Jen; Mike (Kelly), Kaylee and Tyler; and Jeff. She also leaves behind her siblings, nieces and nephews; Carol, Alia and Davin; Kurt (Beth), Leanne and Michael; Tony (Tracy) Casey and Kyle. Our mom has joined her brothers Mike and Mark, her father David and mother Norma who have already passed.

Mom dedicated much of her life to social causes through her involvement with the NDP. She worked on countless campaigns, advocating for issues of social justice, equality and a better community.

Whether camping, fishing, crocheting, antique shopping or finding gems at a garage sale, Mom approached life with a sense of adventure. Her most recent adventure as a grandmother gave her incredible joy.

We would like to thank the staff at HSC for their kindness, compassion and support.

A memorial reception will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 2-4pm. with Eulogies at 3:00 pm. at Thomson “In the Park”, 1291 McGillvray.
