Nelson was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After residing there for a few years, the family moved back to Sudbury where Nelson began school. As a child he was adventurous, loved to ride his bike, play video games, and hang out with his cousins and friends.
The family moved back to Winnipeg, then to Longlac, and finally the last eight years resided in Winnipeg. During the summer he enjoyed traveling with the family, visiting his relatives in Sudbury and Longlac. Last year he was able to go to Niagara Falls, Marineland and Canada's Wonderland.
He kept in touch with his family and friends on Facebook when he was back in Winnipeg, and listened to his favorite "rap" music. Nelson had a kind heart towards everyone he met. He was always rescuing animals in need. One of his favorite sayings was "I LOVE YOU." Nelson was raised in a blended family with two sets of parents and many brothers and sisters. He was proud of this and felt blessed.
Nelson is survived by his parents, Leo and Barb Towegejick and his biological mother Sharon Esquat; his sisters, Gloria Savoyard (Patric), Sabrina Tyson, Brooke Tyson, and Kayla Esquat; his brothers, Alvin Towegeshig, Gordon Carrick (April), Brent Carrick, Allan Jr. Esquat, and Anthony Esquat; his grandfather, Allan Towegeshig (Gail); his special nieces and nephews, Chance Tremblay, Cassandra Tremblay, Lacey Lalande, Kaleb Mallette, and Gracelynn Lebrun; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, cousins and good friends. He was pre-deceased by many of his relatives, including his biological father, Allan Jr. Towegeshig and his brother, Dennis Towegeshig.
Those who had the privilege of meeting Nelson during his short lifetime have been touched and forever changed. An elder once said "We are put here on earth to share our own individual gifts with others. Once our gift is given, we are called home to our creator." One of Nelson's gifts he shared was his kindness and love for others. Forever in our hearts.
"I LOVE YOU"
