Nicola Marino

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Nicola Marino, at age 79, on Tuesday,September 19, 2023.

Nicola was predeceased by; his son Gianni Marino, his parents Antonio and Incoronata Marino, his brothers Giovanni, Giuseppe and Matteo Marino.

He leaves behind; his loving wife of 54 years, Antonietta, sisters Clara (Luigi) DeMarchi, Nancy (Colin) Marino-McRitchie, brother Pat Marino, brother-in-law Mario Castelli, sisters-in-law Dora Castelli, Brigida Braccio, Maria Pina (Mario) Buttino, Evelina Marino and many nieces and nephews.

Nicola was born March 14, 1944 in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1958. He worked at several companies throughout his lifetime; Uncle Ben’s Brewery, Catelli, Pauline’s and lastly the Manitoba Lotteries.

In his retirement years Nicola enjoyed gardening, passionately debating politics and he was a lifelong loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He will be dearly missed by all…..

The family wishes to thank the kind angels of the 3rd floor at Riverview Health Centre for providing him comfort and care in his final days.

A funeral service for Nicola will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave, Winnipeg, MB.
