Norman Burrows passed away suddenly near his home on July 3, 2015.
Norman was born "peacefully" in Bolton, England on June 12 1923. He immigrated with his parents to Canada when he was seven years old.
He is predeceased by his parents Norman and Elizabeth, and his wife Ivy of 62 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his family, sons Alan(Suzanne), John, grandson Chandler and great grandson Tyler.
Norman was a bomber pilot with the RAF Coastal Command during the Second World War. Right after the war he was educated at the Winnipeg School of Art under the instruction of Lionel Lemoine Fitzgerald. He had a successful career as a commercial artist with his company Advertising Artists for 42 years. Over the years Norm made many friends especially through his entertaining performances at retirement homes and other venues playing the bones for bands such as the "Prairie Gophers". As a devoted husband and loving father dad was always there to help. This is hoping his Tiger Moth will forever soar above the clouds.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a simple interment for family and close friends at St. John's Anglican Cathedral 135 Anderson Ave. Winnipeg, Friday, September 4, 2pm.
In lieu of flowers please give to a charity of choice.
