

Peacefully on April 17, 2013, Olive Palmer (nee Todd) passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Born February 5, 1924 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, she served with the volunteer ambulance service during the war where she met her beloved George, a Canadian soldier from Molson Manitoba, and they married November 28, 1946 in Colchester, England. Olive worked as a ward clerk in the pediatrics ward at St. Anthony’s Hospital, The Pas, until her retirement. She and George moved to Winnipeg in 1982, where they played many rounds at Crescent Drive Golf Couse and enjoyed their grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband in 1992, and leaves to mourn her three children, Lindsey Lichty (nee Palmer), Robert and wife Donna, and David, and five grandchildren, Tara, Gregory, Matthew, Timothy and wife Tanya, Sarah and husband Justin, and one great grandchild, Jaxson.
A celebration of life will be held at Thomson In The Park. 1291 McGillivray Blvd on Monday, April 22 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
Special thanks go to the staff of St. Boniface Hospital, 7A south and 7A west for the compassion, respect shown to our Mom. You truly are a credit to your profession and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
