

He will be missed by his wife of 59 years, Edith, children Ottmar Markus (Valdine), Andrea (Roland), Helga, and grandchildren Catherine and Jason. He is survived by siblings Christa Borchert and Irma Hertz of Germany.
He was predeceased by his parents Ludwig Borchert and Emilie Czerwinski, siblings Verner, Gerhardt, Inge, and stepbrothers Ewald and Willie.
Otto was born in June 1926 in Eichhorn Kreis Treuburg Ostpreussen Deutschland (now considered Poland). Otto immigrated to Canada July 1953 and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He found work as a butcher at Canada Packers in 1958 and that same year married Edith. Otto found joy in music (his favorites including The Lawrence Welk Show and The Gaither Gospel Hour), swimming, fishing,the outdoors, and spending time at the cottage he built at Lakeshore Heights. He loved to travel with Edith and enjoyed winters in Florida after his retirement in 1988. He was proud of his children who all attended University, especially Andrea who is the first Doctor (dentistry) in the family. Proud Opa to his grandchildren Catherine and Jason and loved watching them grow up. He was a hardworking man who loved the Lord and did his best to serve him.
Cremation has taken place and a private internment will occur at a future date at Thomson in the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
