Peacefully, at the Poseidon Care Center, Phyllis passed away on February 13 2013,at the age of 89 years.
She was born and raised in South St. Vital, the youngest daughter of George and Ellen McDowell.
Phyllis spent many hours golfing with friends at the Niakwa Golf Club, summers at the cottage at Brereton Lake and winters in San Diego. She also enjoyed quiet times gardening, knitting, reading and crossword puzzles.
Phyllis was predeceased by her first husband, William Davies and also her second husband, Robert Johnstone.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Patricia, Laurie (Linda), Marilyn (Charles), Tom (Evelyn) and Janet (Jim) as well as 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and at the request of Phyllis, a private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the 5th floor staff at the Poseidon Care Center for the compassionate care and comfort given to our mother.
Flowers are gratefully declined. For those wishing, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
