November 9, 1920 – February 8, 2015
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Raymond Murray Ogston on February 8, 2015 at the Kildonan Personal Care Home.
Raymond was predeceased by his loving wife Norma: his parents Albert and Annie Ogston: Norma’s parents Larson and Sarena Mattson and his brothers Homer and Roland. Raymond will be lovingly remembered by his children Sandra (Gilbert), Jeanine (Clinton), Donna (Brad) and Fraser (Marilyn). He will be missed by his grandchildren Greg (Sylvie), Jenna (Brenen), Colin, Spencer, Annie and great Grandchildren Jaxon and Anna. He is also survived by his sister Alberta McDermid.
Ray and Norma met in their teenage years and married April 4, 1945. Their four children were born and raised at the family home on Hazel Dell Ave. Ray worked for Swift of Canada for forty five years. He rose to the position of Vice President of Swift Chemical of Canada. Dad was caring and compassionate. He loved to volunteer and was a dedicated driver for CancerCare for over 15 years. He was a member of Masonic Temple on Kimberley. Ray and Norma travelled extensively. Dad always said he was happy to get home to his family and friends. He curled for many years and was a member of Elmhurst Golf and Country Club for over 50 years. Raymond serviced four years in World War 2 in the Royal Canadian Navy.
Dad loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always ready to lend a hand.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Concordia Hospital and the Kildonan Personal Care Home. Thank You to John, Peter, Scotty, Al and Ronnie for your visits and friendship.
Papa you will be missed, always loved and never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire a donation can be mad to a charity of one’s choice.
