The most gentle and caring person, you could bump into him at a coffee shop and he would easily make you feel like it was just yesterday that he had seen you. Always with a smile

Rest in peace.

Riccardo came into our lives in 2010 soon after we moved to Winnipeg. Our eldest son was given his name by one of his teachers at St. Maurice School. That initial contact blossomed into relationships with my sons, four who volunteered with his mini-soccer program and one who was a member of WSEU's 2012 U14 team that excelled under his tremendous coaching and courageous example as a selfless "man for others". As the poem says, "God only takes the best." Do rest in peace brother Riccardo. We know that you are looking down on us and coaching from on high. You, Bianca and your parents and siblings will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

To the De Thomasis family, our deepest condolences to your family. Riccardo will be truly missed by all, especially by the kids he coached and inspired. He often spoke to us about getting into the RCMP and was heart broken that his health crushed that dream of his. He had such passion and enthusiasm in all he did.
Heaven just got more beautiful with him in it.

"Ritchie" and his brothers and sisters were some of the first people we met when we moved to Garnet Bay in the 1980s. Looking back, they have been some of our best friends on the street. Riccardo was an exceptional young man.
The service today was very touching.

To one of the nicest guys And one of the biggest competitors I have ever met. Always had a smile and a handshake ready every time he saw me. The sport of soccer in Manitoba has truly lost one of the best things it had going for it in a long long time. Rest In Peace brother. You are in a better place now.
