Mr. Robert "Bob" Walter Gottfried

Bob is survived by his wife Marlene, son David (Jenny), grandson Lochlan, mother Caroline, brother Warren, sisters Marianne (Bob) and Patricia (Mark), and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his beloved daughter Sherry and father Walter.

Bob was born in Gimli, Manitoba and married the love of his life, Marlene, after a long courtship starting in Grade 2. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a pilot for 30 years, making the best use of his 11,000 flying hours travelling the world, making lifelong friends, and conveniently "breaking down" in the warmer parts of the globe. Always active in the community, Bob, is fondly remembered for his coaching and unselfish generosity with his time and talents. Bob will be cherished in our hearts and stood as an example of a great man who embraced his family, friends, and life with a positive life force that will live on.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10:00am at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.

In lieu of flowers, please honour his life by making a donation to the ALS Society in lieu of flowers.
