Rosa Petrosino

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my mother Rosa.

Rosa was born on September 16, 1937, in Bari, Italy. She married Paulo in 1957, and they immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1967 for a better life.

Rosa had only one child, a son Enzo. Rosa enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. Social interactions with people made her happy.

Rosa was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Paolo, her brother Vito, and her parents Michele and Regina. She is survived by her son Enzo, sister Anna Marie, numerous nieces and nephews and friends that she made along the way.

A big thank you to Michiko, a friend of the family that for the few remaining years of Rosa’s life provided social interaction, mental stimulation, enjoyment, happiness and entertainment. Being a professional musician, Michiko also provided music therapy for Rosa, playing orchestral pieces…music that Rosa enjoyed.

A viewing will be held at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB, on February 24, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will take place at Thomson "In the Park" Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, MB, on February 25, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
