Sheila Joyce Gemmel

Sheila will be sadly missed by her children Bruce Gemmel, Donna Youngdahl, Brenda Haklik (Chip), Tracie Gemmel (Mark Cohen) and daughters-in-law Gloria Kirouac and Stephanie Gemmel; grandchildren Lisa-Joy Gunter (John), Christopher Kirouac (Lindsay), Matthew Gemmel (Josina Robb), Justin Kirouac, Ryan Gemmel (Caleigh Christie), Shea Youngdahl, Kaylee Youngdahl, Claire Haklik, Sophia Haklik, Emmery Eising, and Iris Cohen; and great-grandchildren Mekhi Gunter, Isla Gunter, Ryan Gemmel-Robb, Olive Kirouac, Cyrus Gunter, Beatrice Kirouac, and Marlowe Robb.

Sheila was pre-deceased by her husband Donald Gemmel in 2009 and her son David Gemmel in 1978.

Sheila was born May 2, 1932 in East Kildonan, Manitoba. She was a life-long employee of Swift and Swift Adhesive, working full time in her twenties and then part-time once her children started school. Married to Don for 47 years, she enjoyed camping and later cottage life with cherished family and friends at Falcon Lake, Manitoba. Sheila will be remembered most fondly for her generosity, delicious Sunday dinners, and beautiful smile.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.
