November 3, 1923 – September 12, 2019
On Thursday, September 12, 2019, Sidney died peacefully at East Gate Lodge, Beausejour, MB,
at the age of 95+ years.
Predeceased by his grandparents Mr and Mrs Luke Bugyik in 1911, parents Luke 1958 and Rosanna
(Karsey) 1990; brothers Allen 1922, John 1999, Louis 2012 and his wife Lily (Pochipinski) in 1998.
Survived by nephews Ray (Sharon), Gary (Louise), Marvin Bugyik and niece Gaylene (Ken)
Kramchynski and their families, kind neighbours and friends.
Sidney was born and raised in Anola and lived in the area all his life. Sidney along with his
parents and brothers worked in the family business until WW II. A labourer all his life, kept him
physically fit. He was the Ford driver for his family. In later life, he drove his walker with precision for
8 years at East Gate Lodge PCH in Beausejour, MB. He liked it there and practically “bought it, ya
know”. Dementia left him with fond memories of his mom, Eaton’s, his guardian angels, Gary and
Louise, a huge smile for Ken and calling his niece Gaylene, “Lianne”. “Don’t be grouchy”, “Better
Smile”, Don’t get lost”, his stutter finally corrected as a side effect of surgery at the age of 87. His
eyesight, hearing, mathematical skills at snakes and ladders and his generous, gentlemanly nature, not diminished by the passage of time. Sidney (Sid the Kid) hosted thanksgiving in senior years at his home until he was 87...the girls bringing the food and the boys supposed to do the dishes...Pay it forward, it can’t hurt.
Funeral service lead by Pastor Richard Engel will be held on September 23, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at
Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy#1 at Navin Road. Interment at Green Acres and a light lunch will
be served.
Flowers declined. Please consider a donation to East Gate Lodge, Beausejour MB or a
charity of your choice.
Thank you to everyone, this bachelor could not have made it to 95+ years without you. It was truly
appreciated. He did not forget...Rest in Peace.
