It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Stella.
She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 63 years, Hubert; her children Denis (Catherine), Suzanne (Marcien), Therese (Daniel), Paulette (Peter), and Gerald (Jane); and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Edith (Roger), Grace (Dave) and her brothers Michel (Claudette) and Sylvio (Bonnie).
She was predeceased by her son Laurent and her brothers Frederick, Wilfred, Gerald and Laurent.
Stella was born March 7th,1937 in St.Boniface to Antonin and Julia Carrière and was raised in Ile Des Chenes. As a young women and into retirement, her career choice was nursing. Whether in the hospital or in public home care, nursing never left her soul, not even as a patient. She married the love of her life, Hubert on November 23rd,1957 and together they had six children. Her true passion was reading yet she found time to create crafts. Her blue eyes would shine when she sang "I love you, a bushel and a peck" and they would sparkle when dancing with her husband Hubert to "Somewhere my love". She took pride in her fruit trees and loved to tend her huge garden. Stella struggled with her disabilities but lived with the hope they would get better. Her life has taught us to choose the things in life that you can feel good about, be true to yourself, be thankful, grateful and never lose your faith.
Mom, Stella, will be missed by her husband Hubert, her family and friends. We cannot thank her second family at Bethesda Place enough for all they have done to keep Mom safe, cared for, loved and feeling like she was home.
Love you Stella, Mom
