Dear LesleyAnn and family, 

I am terribly saddened to hear of the passing of your son, Stephen. My deepest condolences to all of you. Parents are not meant to bury their children. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

I didn't know him for long but remember him well. He will be missed...

Words alone still cannot express the sense of loss that not only I feel, but my family and his close friends do as well. I've lost a brother.. a best friend and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. Steve had an infectious smile, always made people around him laugh and I appreciated every moment I was around him. I'm forever grateful to have had Steve so ingrained into my life since elementary school and I consider myself lucky to have been his friend. I now have an abundant amount of great and joyful memories I've shared with Steve throughout the years and those memories are priceless. In time, we will see each other again. Until then I'll miss you dearly.
I'm heartbroken for his daughters and Steve's family. Steve was a wonderful, joyful person that deserved to be happy. Steve is now at peace, and I hope that all the wonderful stories and pictures we can share with you, provide comfort during this difficult time.

The last time I saw Stephen, he was loping down Sage Creek Blvd with Sara on his shoulders.  I remember smiling as I drove by and feeling so good at seeing that moment.  My love and deep sympathy to the family, his parents, siblings, friends and the nuclear loving girls he leaves to be so sad without him; Michelle and Sara and Emma.  Much love to you all.  It was a privilege to have met Stephen.

Words cannot express the grief we are feeling with the passing of Stephen. He will be in our thoughts and in our hearts forever. In this time of sorrow may god give us all strength.

Our hearts have been deeply saddened with the loss of our nephew Stephen and our love goes to Lesley, Neil, Matthew and Ben.  We have so many wonderful memories of Stephen, particularly in his younger years, especially, when those big brown eyes and his contagious smile peeked up above the rail of his crib. Stephen was always a great fun to hang out with and go camping with. I have many fond memories of him camping with us at Grand Beach and the creative sand sculptures at we created. I have so many memories of Stephen from going to the beach road trips playing video games for 18hrs non stop and parties . He was one of my best friends growing up. Steve was always a happy guy fun to hang around with and was all ways there for his friends. You will be missed very much my dear friend. gatherings will not be the same with out you there. We have known the Hancock's since 1981, and knew Stephen his entire life. We have many fond memories of our children playing together in the back yard. We watched Stephen grow into a fine young man who married and was blessed with two beautiful daughters. We were fortunate to have known Stephen ever since he and our son Kyle were in grade school.  His wonderful smile and happy personality was always welcome in our home. It was always nice to see the latest masterpiece at his desk by one of his daughters, whom he clearly cherished. He will be missed greatly.

LesleyAnn,  My very deepest sympathy goes out to you Neil and the boys.  I can only imagine how heart broken you must be.  As parents we are never prepared for our children to pass before us.  Although I hadn't seen Stephen in many years  I do remember his wonderful smile and twinkle in his eye as a little boy when you would bring the boys to the office.  I know he held a very special place in your heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Steven was a very near and dear friend of my brother Kyle since childhood.  Although he was my brother's friend, he was like family to me, like having another little brother.  He will forever be present in my heart and in the many great memories he has given.  He will be missed dearly.  I will never forget his smile, his happy and genuinly kind demeanor. I had the pleasure of being Stephen's partner at work for the last 6 years. He was more than a co-worker he was also a dear friend. He had a way of making you feel comfortable the minute you met him. I worked on and off with Stephen over the last 4 years from Shaw in Calgary.  I am saddened from hearing about him passing, my condolences go out to his Family.  He was a great person to work with.

Steve became a part of our family through his close friendship with my brother. I loved him like another younger brother, and have wonderful memories of his visits to Canmore, camping, board games, and his smile. That smile was contagious... I'm smiling just thinking about it. He is dearly missed.

I only knew Stephen for a few years, but I feel very fortunate to of known such a wonderful, loving and caring person. He will be missed by all.

Steve had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor.  He always told stories about his girls and loved them immensley.  We will all miss you.
