He will be lovingly remembered by his son Paul and his two grandsons Flynn and Owen, as well as family in Scotland.
He was predeceased by his wife Ann (2014) and daughter Lee-Ann (1988).
Stuart and Ann immigrated to Canada from Scotland in 1974 and quickly started making a new life for themselves. Stuart opened Winnipeg Crown and Bridge Dental Laboratory in the summer in 1980 and remained the owner until his retirement in 2011.
Family was first and foremost for my Mom and Dad and they provided my sister and I a wonderful childhood filled with love and laughter, family trips to Florida and Hawaii will always be cherished memories.
My dad loved his golf at the Southwood Golf & CC. He enjoyed many laughs and many stories with his Friday guys. After his Sunday round, I would join him and we would play a few holes in the setting sun, memories I will never forget.
Mom and Dad enjoyed travelling. They went back to Scotland numerous times over the years and bought a house in Largs off the Coast of Scotland with hopes of living there in retirement. Sadly Moms passing in 2014 disrupted those plans. My Dad was never the same after her passing as she was the love of his life. Since then his heart has been broken, I take comfort in the fact that they are together again.
My dad was an honest hard working man who was respected by many. He will be sadly missed especially by his two grandsons whom he absolutely adored.
I would like to thank the staff at the Victoria Hospital and Dr. Leylek at CancerCare Manitoba for their attentive care given to my Dad.
A special thank you to Ann Hutchison for her care and compassion for my Dad throughout this difficult time. You are a true angel Ann.
A service for my Dad will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. A reception will follow after a family interment.
