Surjit was born on December 7th,1940 in Domeli Punjab. She migrated to Canada with her family in 1976. Bibiji devoted every moment of her life to ensuring her family was well taken- care of. She was extremely hard-working to provide for her family and she even embodied this spirit after retirement. Bibiji dedicated 22 years of her retirement to her grandchildren and her husband. Bibiji loved to cook and would often spend her time making her family's favourite things. Her family is especially going to miss her knitting and homemade cooking. Bibiji always had a huge smile while tending to her cherished garden in the summers. Even when life got busy, she always made time to keep in touch with family near and far. She made sure she was present in every large and small milestone. She also dedicated most of her life to seva within the community and Gurdwara.
Bibiji’s resilience and strength to live her life to the fullest is an example for her family and loved ones. Her presence will always be missed, but a small part of her lives within each of us. We hope to continue her legacy and the values that she instilled within us.
