Thomas Gordon Reith

Peacefully, at the Grace Hospital, Tom passed away on Thursday October 11th , 2012.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Marie, son Gordon, sisters-in-law Irene Reith and Joan Sanderson and brother-in-law Tom Sanderson, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was predeceased by his Mother and Father, sisters: Dorothy and Effie and brothers: Walter, William and Douglas.

Tom was born in Winnipeg, Aug 7th, 1928. He grew up on Banning street in the west end where he made many lifelong friends. He attended Principal Sparling and Daniel McIntyre Schools. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg Works and Operations clerical staff for over 40 years, retiring in 1986.

Tom was always an avid golfer and was proud of achieving a “hole-in-one” while vacationing in Arizona in 1993. Upon retirement he joined the Winnipeg Male Chorus and enjoyed many years of singing and camaraderie with the members of the chorus. Tom and his wife enjoyed travelling and spent many great holidays visiting Great Britain, Scandinavia, Hawaii, Mexico and various locations in the U.S.A. and Canada.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Tuxedo Villa, Station One and the staff at The Grace Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Tom.

A private family service will be held.
