Victor Roy Derin
April 9, 1937 – August 11, 2019
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved father, guido, uncle and brother at the age of 82.
Dad will be missed greatly by his loving family: son Derk (Dawn); daughters Cherie (Craig); Angie (Tim); grandchildren Shae, Malia, Trent John (TJ); brother Frank; sister Pauline (Jerry); sisters-in-law Rosella and Rita; nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Shirley, parents John and Annie Derin, brother Edward, sisters and brothers-in-law; Helen (Elmer); Nell; Rose (Ed); Margaret (Ken); Hazel (Paul) and Walter.
Vic’s story began in SK on the farm. Life here consisted of extremely hard work for unbelievably long hours, even from a young age. When he left home for work, he would always return for harvest time each fall. His work ethic was incredible, his strength unbelievable, love for family was tremendous and pride was indispensable. He could fix anything; if there was no part to purchase, he would make one. He had a love for planes so he became a pilot and enjoyed flying his cessna. You could always count on him for a ride anywhere and his house had an open door policy; you were always welcome in for a drink. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, any support for Canadian blood services would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB.
