I have thought of your family many times in the past few weeks. I remember visiting with your mom and dad in Orlando and Winston Salem. We have several of her paintings, which we cherish. Your mom and my mom were friends and relatives! Thank you for sharing both of your parents with us.

Warmly,
Merrie Petrus Harding

We are so sorry we did not know of Betty's death till yesterday. We remember her for her wonderful creativity in painting and sculpture and cherish the several pictures we have of hers and of course the wonderful sculpture we have of Keith. We attribute much of our son Kevin's artistic development to Betty who always insisted that you kids draw from life and not in a coloring book. Love to you all. Keith and Ruth Kooken

I am certainly thinking of each of you at this time -- especially tomorrow night during the memorial service. I wish I could attend.

Your mother was a good friend to my mother -- her cousin -- and your mom was always so interested in what was going on with us.

Your mother was also a very talented woman. We have the wedding portraits of my parents hanging here. Such a treasure.

Sent with warmest wishes and sympathy to each of you, Bonnie Petrus

As Betty's former long time neighbor, I will always remember a surprise she once gave me. I had taken down a bouquet of my camellias to brighten her day, Several weeks later, I opened my door to find Bill standing there holding a beautifully framed oil painting of those same camellias. Such a memorable and thoughtful gift. To this day, I have that painting proudly hanging in my living room.

Fondly, Janet Sanford
