She was born on February 28, 1933, in Tobaccoville, N.C. to the late Zanesville Long and Verlie Grubbs Long.
She was a lifelong member of Matthew's Chapel Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, NC. She worked and retired from Hanes Hosiery in Winston-Salem, NC. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed flat-foot dancing, fishing, and above all loved her family.
Betty married James W. Robertson on Christmas Day in 1952.
She is survived by her daughter, Tanya Jordon (Tobias) of Falling Waters, WV, son James W Robertson, Jr. (Melinda) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Tiffany Noel Wallach (Danny), Amanda R. Sheetz (Daniel) and Matthew Robertson (Audrey); Great grandchildren, Kayla Otey Dance, Colton Bowers, Zachary Sheetz, and Bradley Sheetz.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Robertson and her brother, Billy Grey Long.
Graveside service will be held at Crestview Cemetery on April 22, 2025 at 10:30 am.
