Bruce was born August 24, 1945, and was the son of Henry Edward and Barbara Masters Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judith.
Bruce graduated from Gloucester High School in 1964 and received a Bachelor’s degree from Monmouth College in Illinois in 1970. For many years, Bruce was employed by Genzyme in Cambridge, Mass. Bruce was an avid reader with a particular interest in English and Russian history.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jennifer Pierce of Winston Salem, North Carolina and their three sons, Taylor of Seattle, Washington, Scott of Greensboro, N.C., and Logan of Winston Salem, N.C.
A private burial will be held in Gloucester at a later date.
