

Winston-Salem- Mr. Calvin Franklin Spillman, 74, died at Forsyth Medical Center on November 8, 2011. Graveside services will be held at Crestview Memorial Park on Saturday, November 12 at 2:30 PM with Pastor David Harmon officiating.
Mr. Spillman was born in Yadkin County to the late Benjamin Charlie and Josephine Goldie Adams Spillman. He was retired from K & W Cafeteria on Hanes Mill Road. He was a member of Forbush Baptist Church in Yadkinville and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He married Sue Smith Burgess in 1994 and together they enjoyed traveling, socializing with the friends from Senior Services and playing bingo. She preceded him in death in 2009.
He is survived by his sister, Annette (Lawrence) Hobson of Clemmons and brother, B.C. (Ruth) Spillman of Yadkinville; step-children, Linda Flynt and Cathy Marion both of Kernersville; sister-in-law, Margaret Spillman of Yadkinville; six nieces/nephews; three step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Jim and John (Hope) Spillman.
The family wishes to express their thanks to his step-daughters, Linda and Cathy for their care of Mr. Spillman and also to David and Yvonne Harmon for their friendship to Calvin. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association. Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Chapel is serving the Spillman family.
