Mr. Hester was a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church.
He served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII.
He retired from Piedmont Natural Gas after years of valuable service.
Mr. Hester was preceded in death by his wife, Col. Pauline Whitney Hester.
He is survived by his daughter, Gaynelle Fodren of Gainsville, FL; son, Kinney Gray Hester of Evansville, IN; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be June 8, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Jock Ollis officiating.
